Last admission is typically well before closing time; if you have a later slot, plan your transport so you can still enjoy several unhurried hours in the gardens.
Weekday mornings and late afternoons often feel quieter, especially outside of national holidays. Overcast days can be perfect for photos and gentle walking.
Because the season is short and interest is high, advance booking is very strongly recommended — particularly for weekends, holidays, and tours that include transport.
